Attending the 2025 Systems Thinking and Modelling Symposium at Melbourne Business School was a fantastic opportunity to present our systems modelling research on enhancing youth mental health outcomes through digital technologies.
My presentation on Youth Mental Health Systems Modelling
I presented our work on:
Harnessing Digital Technologies to Enhance Youth Mental Health Service Capacity and Accessibility in Western Sydney
It was a great opportunity to share the results of our systems modelling research as part of the Right Care, First Time, Where You Live program, funded by the BHP Foundation. This research, conducted at the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre, aims to support better youth mental health outcomes by exploring how digital innovations can bridge service gaps and enhance access to care.
It was inspiring to engage in discussions with fellow system dynamicists and explore new perspectives on how modelling can inform health policy and decision-making.
Reconnecting with Old Friends
Beyond the symposium, this trip to Melbourne was also a great chance to reconnect with Milad, Enayat, and Hadi. There’s something truly special about friendships that pick up right where they left off, no matter how much time has passed. We shared stories, reflected on past memories, and enjoyed being back together again.

Reflections on the Trip
This visit was the perfect blend of professional engagement and personal fulfillment—from the stimulating discussions at the symposium to the laughter-filled moments with friends.

I leave Melbourne feeling grateful for the connections, conversations, and insights, and I look forward to the next opportunity to collaborate, reconnect, and grow.

Let’s learn Systems Modelling together!
