Adding a model dashboard or interface considerably increases the chance of the model results being seen and utilized by stakeholders. Therefore, it improves the engagement of the stakeholders in model-based decision-making. In the following short video, I explain the process of creating dashboards for system dynamics models in Vensim (in Persian).
While Stock Flow Diagrams could be hard to understand (at first look) for those with less modelling knowledge, model dashboards / interfaces are designed to help the model user, without any specific knowledge in systems modelling, to run the model under different scenarios and interventions and accordingly extract useful insights from the model.
In the following short video, which is in Persian in 2021, I briefly showed how to create a simple dashboard for a system dynamics model in Vensim.
